Ample connectivity
The GR4 is replete with connectivity. You get four microphone inputs on rear-panel Phoenix connectors, with a selectable front-mounted XLR input for added convenience. You also get four stereo line inputs on rear-panel phono connectors, along with an additional front-panel 3.5mm jack that overrides the input four phono source. The GR4 includes two stereo zone outputs on rear-panel Phoenix connectors, plus an additional two mono zone outputs selectable via internal jumpers. The A&H GR4 also includes paging and alarm inputs or rear-panel Phoenix connectors for easy integration of third-party paging stations and alarm systems.
Powerful mixing
Here at Sweetwater, we’re blown away by the Allen & Heath GR4’s powerful mixing capabilities. You get individual mix and selectable control over all inputs to zones one and two. You also get multiple options for configuring zone three and four’s mix outputs. All microphone inputs include adjustable gain and a 2-band EQ, and you get an additional 2-band EQ for the unit’s zone outputs. The GR4 boasts primary and secondary mic modes for controlling hierarchal microphone feeds for paging. This zone mixer also includes an emergency mic mode for use with third-party systems as well as a jukebox mode, which provides a priority line input for pre-recorded announcements or program material. You’ll appreciate the GR4’s advanced features, which permit absolute control over ducking attenuation, ducking hold and release times, music crossfade time, and jukebox hold and release times.
Easy remote control
You can achieve remote control over the GR4 via the PL-14 wall plate remote (sold separately), which is easily connected to the GR4’s rear-panel RJ45 connectors. This zone mixer also accommodates a range of custom or third-party analog remotes, which connect to the unit’s rear-panel Phoenix connectors.
